detachable floor plate

is there any known 8/81's to have a detachable floorplate installed to remove loaded catridges from the magazine without having to cycle the bolt and if so who did the work and was it professionally done

I have seen one 81 with that done. I have no idea who did the work.

Some purists will object to this modification and see any guns which have it as being something "less" than an unadulterated, untouched, pristine Remington Autoloader. Others will see this modification in the same light as a Krieger detachable magazine, or the addition of an Marbles peep sight. They will appreciate it as a modification which actually increases the value of the gun. Frankly, my personal opinion is that the detachable floor plate would be a plus. And as this is the first one of these that I've ever seen I think it must be a relatively rare modification, which I think adds to its value.

I agree with Hardrada55. Up until you ask about it I had never heard of the modification let alone seen one. Just don't let Jack1653 know about it!

- he'll want one for every year.

that was a custom job no doubt but kinda interesting. First one i've seen like it.

it looks all original with no extra holes and at 610.00 i think the person did well
