Production and sales figures...
Production and sales figures...
After paging through some of my vintage hunting magazines, 1910-1914, I've noticed none of the hunting photos have a model 8. Amazingly, many of the photos have Winchester autoloaders included. It has me thinking that perhaps after years of the Winchester lever rifles dominating the market, the name Winchester attached to the inferior self loader led to an early lead on the market. If anyone has sales / production figures I'd surely appreciate some input.

I have Winchester figures up to 1-1-11. 25445 1905 SLR's, 24014 1907's, and 4766 1910's. Seems like they may have outproduced Remington.
