Hi, I ran across this nice 81, which I bought.
Taking it apart for a thorough cleaning, but the safety lever won't budge while removing it from the receiver. Seems like a very tight fit. Yes, it is pointing down in the correct removal position. Bolt to the rear also.
I've had a couple apart before and the lever pulled out fairly easily.
My question is, can I use a brass punch on the left side to give it a little nudge to get it moving without maybe damaging something?
I have it soaking in penetrating oil, but it is a stubborn beast.
It is very dry inside, and looks to have been fired very little. No rust at all, just dry.
Any help would be appreciated.

Update:

WOW, had to drive it out!

I had to do the same on my latest M81. Used a wooden dowel and dead blow hammer. It came out hard. After clean up and lubrication its fine now.
