Not original, but with potential nontheless. No holes in the reciever...only wish the sling swivels wasnt here. The rest no big deal. Has number 20 on side of trigger guard. Not sure what all these markings mean. But here she is!

Nice 300 Savage. Most of them have some sort of recoil pad and sling attachments as they were serious hunting tools. The 300 is a very good deer cartridge. Your rifle is very similar to the one I have and I plan on hunting with it for sure.

This one even came equipped with a period GPS unit inset in the stock.
Its a pretty good shooter too using a correct Lyman tang sight in place of the buckhorns.

Nice looking shooter - looks like minute-of-deer to me.

Wish whoever had owned it prior to me wouldnt have took the tang sight off. There is an outline left in the blueing where one once was. Probably ebay'ed it! I gotta buy a sight, and butt plate for this girl. What type of rear sight (not tang)should be on this gun? Made in 47. thanks

to my recollection there was only 1 standard Model 81 rear sight. It has a flat top unlike the Model 8's semi-buckhorn.
