I just put a new article on the website all about the Peace Officer Model 8 & 81's. It's a long read but there's lots of good info and pictures in there! It's worth your time if you have any interest in the Police versions. It can be found from the home page under the tab "Police Model 8 and Model 81's" or at the link below...

There are two videos embedded at the end of the article, if they are not seen you can click "download video" to view them or just watch via the youtube links.

Hope y'all enjoy it, as always I'm open to any comments.

thanks again David for helping me get it posted.

God bless,

Nice article, good data and well written. The videos were cool too.
Just have one dilema: now I want a "Police Special" more than I need one.

Thanks Ken, I appreciate it.

If you're looking for a "Special Police" you're in luck.

That is a nice specimen for sure, unfortunately its out of my price range. As much as I like these rifles and think that the "Police Special" is really cool, for that kind of money I could buy an M1A (which I really like) and an AR15 (which I could live without).

The original Police guns are pricey no doubt, but if you can locate a vintage 15 round magazine I'm sure Pete Verschneider would be happy to build one for you for a fraction of the cost.

P.S. There are two solitary Police magazines (one Model 8, one Model 81) both in .35Rem on Rock Island Auction right now.
