Watched Jim's video and found very informative, Thank You for posting. I need to replace the safety on an 8 because of a bent lever and stripped stud, it is the type with screw holding outside lever. How does one remove the old safety, can the pin be driven out from left side, seems very tight, does one need an arbor press to do the job or can it be done with punch and dead blow hammer. Jim did not address safety removal. Thanks, Jerry

Jerry,
After dissasembly, the safety must be cautiously depressed where it points directly down (most place something underneath the safety to prevent scratching the receiver). The safety must be facing down as there is a keyway that has to be alligned in order to remove it. If it's not alligned, all the pounding in the world on the pin from the otherside wont budge it. Pay particular attention to "Figure 3" in the attached pages. Hope that helps!
