What's the verdict guys....."C" grade? Or what? With the stock marked "3", I would think it's a righteous "C" grade. What do ya'll think?

Your rifle is almost surely a No. 3 Special, which is what they later deemed a "C" grade. Fantastic looking model 8.

That you guys for the input and kind words.
My brother and I needed cash several months and tried to sell it. Well we ain't gonna sell it now. Some of the collectors at the gun show didn't realize it was factory. I had my suspicion it is a "C" grade.
When my Dad passed away I dissasembled and cleaned it. When shooting it, the rifle would lock open. Dummy me assembled it with the Magazine indicator sprin on top of the bolt rail. I don't think I did it that way I guess the spring slipped out of its slot in the receiver.
So I took it apart again and found my oops. Lucky I didn't go any more damage than it did.
Anyway that's when I noticed a "3" and the serial Number on the stock.
Well I went investigating and found this site, and here I am.
Nice site. I not a real forum person, but there are some good ones that don't put up with any nonsense.
I also have a leather case and will post pictures of it. As far as I know the gun came in it. Not sure if is for the Model 8 or just a case that was available back in the golden days of gun making.
