The boys are out huntin' while Momma's away...

Mom went on a week-long trip today so we started out at Cabelas and followed with some shootin' in the back. After dinner we headed out for some hog hunting. Dad had some fire-power for hogs that may come to feeders or cross way out. The boys were carrying their .22's loaded with Stingers in case the hogs came close. About 8:15PM a dozen assorted sized pigs waddled in and slowly made their way closer to us. I assumed they were deaf since the small commotion the boys were making didn't even get their attention. Somewhere between 25 and 30 yards they aimed in and whispered "one, two, three"! The shots were simultaneous. One of the bigger sows dropped right in her tracks - it was a low spine shot just above the shoulder. There was only one hole in her and I can probably guess who hit her, but it doesn't matter because it was a team effort. The CCI Stinger must have cut a vein too because there was some dark blood with lots of bubbles coming out the hole. We got home just after 10PM and jumped into showers. Way past their bed time, we had to try out the new trucks they bought too. Now let's see what trouble we can get into tomorrow ...
