300 Savage Range Day

Post by Wildgoose »

Went to the range to sight in and just shoot the 300 Savage M81. Had to do some drifting on the front sight but got it in. These old guns are just plain fun. Sighted in the grand daughters new/old retro deer rifle too. A cousin to the 81 a Remington 722 in 300 Savage. We are both going to be shooting 300's this fall. The load used for the 100 yard group in the pic is H4895 at 39.5 grains, Hornady 150 grain .308 RN. It runs 2450 fps over the crono. Should be a deer killer for sure.

Like you said, minute of deer for sure. Way-cool
