Question Regarding Original Configuration Buttplates

I have been looking for a Model 8 in .35 Rem for a couple of years, and have been put off buying as I cannot find one with a metal buttplate. I see 8's in .30 and .32 Rem with the curved, metal plates, but not a .35 Rem. Was the .35 Remington only made with the plastic buttplate?
Thanks.

Nitroman,
As far as I can tell, the caliber doesn't have anything to do with the buttplate. The buttplates you find on the Model 8 probably have more to do with the year the rifle was manufactured more than anything else.
The first few years of production nearly all Model 8s had the hard rubber buttplate. After the early years, Model 8's could be ordered with a number of different buttplates, but by 1921 the standard buttplate for all Model 8's was the bottom tang metal version.
Hope that helps.
