Hi Guys,
I am making a request for a fellow Remington owner and good Friend. He sent me an email requesting the following.
"Do you have or know anyone that has a good clear v22 weaver 7/8 diameter scope? I need one to replace one I have on my 32 REM 81 with stith mounts."
Any leads will be greatly appreciated.

Re: Weaver scope
Jack, These come up fairly often on Fleabay.Wish I had known of your need earlier I sold the last one I had a few months ago.Have a friend that is bringing me a pile of old Weavers next week and there may be a V22 among them.I`ll keep an eye out for a nice one and let you know. Joe

Re: Weaver scope
Thanks Joe for the reply. I do not know much about these vintaage scopes. I have a few rifes with scopes on them but I don't shoot most of what I have so I can't attest to the qualities of the scopes. I have tried to use a couple but have not been satisfied with the optics particularly in low light. My eyes aren't what they use to be so I rely on more modern scopes if I want to make sure that I am going to get a good shot.
I'll be looking forward to your respnse. I feel more comfortable in getting information from the members than I do from Ebay sellers. If you get some of the weavers, I will send you the contact information for the individual and you can deal directly with him. He is an honest man and loves the Remington's. Cam can also vouch for the gentleman. Thanks a million.

Re: Weaver scope
Jack,
I`ll be on the look out for you but am wondering why your friend wants a V22 ? The V22 was a Rimfire scope and has a very short eyerelief. In addition to it being questionable as to standing up to the significant recoil of our beloved 8/81`s (Lots of plastic parts in the scope) I know I would not want to be that close to the eyepiece. Serious injury would be distinct possibility. The alternatives with a 7/8 tube would be a Lyman Alaskan or Texan with the ample eyerelief needed. I don`t have any extras of those right now and as you probably know the WW2 Sniper guys have driven the price up . Let me know. Joe

Re: Weaver scope
Good call Sarge, I was wondering about that myself but hadn't checked "the book" to confirm.
I do have a 7/8 Alaskan but if I get that FleaBay Stith mount it will have a home, if not... well, I'll let you know.
