I hope this works-new user

Post by M1355 »

Good Morning All,
User name M1355. Would it be possible to contact John Henwood to report the model 8's in my collection for his next edition of the Great model 8? I have one that will be the third known example of the Thirteenth Style barrel rollmark.

Mark,

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the unusual rifle! We'd all love to see a photograph of the jacket markings if you're willing.

I haven't heard of there being another edition of the Great Model 8? :?:

I've never posted on a forum before today, however I'll post pictures as soon as I load them. It may take a few days.
I don't know about a next edition, I just wanted to pass the information on before it's lost.
Thanks, M

Mark,

from the pictures here as well as the ones you emailed, your rifle is pretty cool.

The barrel jacket markings are like you mentioned, but I really like your buttplate. John Henwood coined it the "semi-military" version with a curved heel and toe, it's quite uncommon. You have a nice aperature on your peep as well. Cool old rifle! Thanks for taking the time to share it with us, love it :D
