I am at a show last weekend and walk up to a table. The guy has a Western Standing Bear box of 30 Rem Silvertips. I ask how much ? ... he says make an offer ? ... I say I don't know ? ... he says gimme $3.00 ! ... I say I guess I'll take em.

I have not found anything in .30 Rem like that, but I have picked up some amazing gun show buys of some really rare and unusual ammunition at gun shows from vendors who had no idea of what they had. That's why I try to go early the first day.

It's been over 20 years ago, but I bought two mint-condition full boxes of Standing Bear .348 Winchester Silvertip at a flea market for, I think, $5 per box. I sold them about a year later for $40 each, and the buyer was tickled pink to get them. And I needed the money.

So how do you guys get into those shows with your mask on?
