Look at the top rifle in the picture from Guns magazine 10/1956. Converted to have only the chamber recoil as a design concept for the Model 50. I was not sure if it was already on here somewhere. All of them are pretty interesting.

Thanks for sharing this picture. Yes this is David "Carbine" Williams one of prototype rifle build using a Model 8 as a host (obviously). It's in 35Rem. I've got some more pictures of it laying around here somewhere. It's currently in a museum in North Carolina. I bet it's one heck of a shoulder thumper!
