New Model 8 .32

Post by Phil99 »

Image

Here's a photo of my new Remington Model 8 in .32 Rem. Serial #377XX. Dates to 1915 if I understand correctly. Blue is a bit thin in spots, but it's a good sound rifle with a great bore and no problems.

I've got a Model 14 in the same chambering, so I loaded up some rounds, using resided .30 Rem brass. The gun cycles perfectly and seems to shoot where it's pointed. More precise work with it will have to wait 'till spring.

Thanks to everyone on the site for providing so much info.

Rod,

Great looking pre-WWI Model 8 you have there! I love those rifles with the "cheeked" stocks. Sharp :D

I said to self, "Self, how does he know that that is a cheeked-stock? Are my old eyes that bad?" Then just for kicks Self clicked on the posted picture. What do you know big picture with cheeked-stock pops up (along with several more pics). Whodaknown? :o

Thanks for posting them.
