I've updated the page "Frank Hamer's Rifle" with some recent information I received from the Texas Ranger Museum in Waco, TX. The rifle in their collection (once owned by Hamer) is a Model 81 "Special Police" # 10045. This is the same rifle displayed by Frank Hamer Jr. in Larry Buchannan's 1968 documentary and obviously not the rifle used in the ambush. It seems that Al Ritter's account that Hamer acquired rifle #10045 from Petmeckey’s Sporting Goods store in Austin, Texas then had it sent to Peace Officers prior to the ambush is incorrect.
