I had joined you Model 8 owners several months ago when I obtained my first model 8 - Grade A, Serial #338xx, about 80-90% condition. It was an old farmers gun who took many deer as the original owner of the rifle, but less than 50rd through her in her life. I absolutely love my Model 8 in .35 rem that I followed up with a Marlin 336A made in 1950 .35 Rem, and a Model 14 in .35 Rem as well. My new favorite round. Looking to gain more experience with the Model 8 and hopefully someday find a 15rd magazine and make a conversion into a police model, if legal to do so in NY state. However, I am more than satisfied with the classic setup. I got more aquainted with her and field stripped it down, cleaned and oiled, and took about 2 hours to get it back together on the fly no manual. The insides are like nothing I have seen before, and I love it. I will post some photos of her when I get a chance, I have a outlet on a Lyman for $175 and will probably pull the trigger on it.
