Well I guess I can jump in here !. So far I think my favorite is the .30 Remington the sole reason for this is I can get five rounds in the magazine of my model 8 which is great since most stages of our Wild Bunch matches only require five shots, So no reloading.
I like my Mdl 8 in 35 but I really have'nt really fired it enough yet to form a strong opinion about it.
I also just picked up a Mdl. 81 in 300 Savage but have yet to get it unbubbaized enough to go out and shoot it. It's nice looking on the outside but on the inside I found that the link was bent at the tip which messed up the action spring plunger and raised some burrs at the action spring tube mouth, The barrel plug screw had been replaced with a short plug screw of the wrong size, The stock was missing the tang screw bushing and had been fitted(not very well) with a pad, I waiting on parts now so before long I should be able to decide how well I like the 300.
I'm looking for a .25 but I have'nt found one yet that's in good enough shape for me to like and reasonable enough that my wallet does'nt scream in pain.

35 Remington. It was the only one different than what was already on the market. And it has stood the test of time. 100 years and counting!

.25 Rem. Since I have 3 guns in that caliber (14, 8, Stevens 425).

What caliber do you wish the Model 8 and 81 had come in? I personally wish that they had made the Model 81 in .250 Savage. Or maybe the wildcat .270 Savage which I understand was invented in the 1940s.

+1 on 250 savage. I really like the Quarter-bore. I have a 96 Mauser with custom bull barrel in 250 savage that groups over lapping holes at 200 yds.

25Rem is by far my favorite not because how good it is. More for how it was used in my family to put food on the table.
If I can get mine fixed and learn to shoot with these tang sight maybe I will connect with something too.

My favorite is the .30 Remington. 'course, I don't have a .25. If I had a .25, that might be my favorite. My final answer though is .30.
