Another newbie from No.Va.

Post by Racin Junkie »

I recently purchased a Model 8 (35 Rem) made in 1922(?) at a local gun store. Finally got to shoot it yesterday, I'm very happy!!!!!!

Glad I found this site, hope to learn all I can here. Also glad to see my friend Adam is a member.

If I would have had the cash I could have gotten a Mdl. 81 in 300 Savage thhis past weekend.

Welcome aboard. You're in the right place for m-8/81 rem. Nuts. Feel free to ask any questions you may have. There. are many helpful members here who are glad to help. Beware though, that your m-8 will not give you a minutes rest until you buy him a roommate!
Thanks
Roger

Dang, Dave!

So that's what you do to me - tease me with your new Model 8, with no pictures either!

Guess you should bring it with you to Dale City VFW next week so I can get my hands on it!

Glad you got ahold of one of these great guns. My Savage 720 is identical in function - going to have to use it in trap/skeet at Centreville soon!

Thanks, Dave, you made my day at the gun show when you appeared with the Model 8!

Your rifle is the first one I have closely inspected (and also partially disassembled...LOL) and I am jealous.

It is indeed in great condition - hope to read more about your adventures with your new/old toy on this site!

Just keep me in mind, Dave - .35 Remington Model 8 - you know my price range - you know my Finn M39 "good guy" price range - LOL

We have got to get out to the Quantico range someday with my friend Skip, who is retired military. I am going to be doing my best to set aside time and learn to reload for my guns with his help.
