Roger has been able to help me attain level 1 in my "Remingtons designed by Browning" program. Although the rifle in question, an early Model 8 in .35 Remington, is still between FFL's, it will soon arrive and join the team.
What logically follows is an 81, with a Remington 11 shotgun on its heels.
The 14 and 141 Remingtons would fulfill another unique niche in American firearms history for me to enjoy - firearms designed by John Pedersen. Unfortunately, I doubt I'll ever encounter Pedersen's most intriguing design, his "Pedersen Device" that transformed bolt action '03 Springfields to automatic rifles. I'm not a high roller, unfortunately.
As the title reads - thought I'd go ahead and get my "wish list" posted here. I am adding that besides an outright purchase of a rifle.
I've got to get a .35 Model 8, 81, 14, or 141 and join in on the fun. So, I'm looking for a "project" Remington that is good enough to shoot without much mechanical work.
My wish list details:
1. .35 Remington is my first choice; .300 Savage my second
2. Model 8 or 81 first choice, Model 14 or 141 second
3. Bore, spring tube, furniture should be good condition - however, light rust/freckling/even no bluing or worn finish is fine so long as it is not dented to beat the band (I like to do my own gunsmithing to a degree), same goes for the wood
4. I will accept guns that have been drilled and tapped for scope mounts
5. $400 or less, considering what I am looking for, within reason on my end
Just PM or email me for any info at all.
Thanks guys!
Take care.
Adam
