Why is it , even though I click the option to Log me on automatically on each visit , it NEVER works, and I have to type in the password every single time ? Thanks .

This may not apply to you, but it all depends on the type of browser you are using. I was a Windows, Microsoft user using IE-9 and was having the same problem. When I switched to the Mac computer, the problem went away and I don't have to enter the name or password any longer.

The site administrator manages several gun sites similar to this one for no remuneration and it is virtually impossible to meet the individual nuances of every user and computer configurations.

Well I am not going to buy a Mac just to make the sights option work !!! I am on dell using Microsoft one of the most popular combinations on the planet . It should work for common servers etc. It is a Royal pain I am stuck with I guess . Do not have this problem on any other forum using the same equipment though ?
