Gentlemen..
I have a VERY nice early Model 8...with the tang sight..schnable forend..and checkering that appears to be factory... BUT...along the way - some chicken put a darn rubber pad on the butt -- shortening it about an inch..
YUKKK... Bad part is....it is a beautiful figured stock..with a beautiful grained - colorful piece of wood....
I am wondering if anyone on this site has an original early stock with the longer grip area..not like on the later ones and the 81..

Kinda depends on how $$ much $$ the pad is bothering you. The link below will put you in contact with an artist gun enthusiast who will ad an extension to your desired length and paint in the grain hiding any trace the extension has been added.
