Is there anyone currently selling the barrel disassembly tools? I just bought a 1940 mfg year 81, cleaned the receiver and trigger plate mechanism and now want to do a cleanup on the barrel.
I was given a Model 81 Remington 35 in 1954 for my 15th birthday. Sold it in 1959 and had missed it ever since. Well I miss no more!
Ser #115XX Beautiful condition. Now to find some ammo. Everyone around here is sold out.

Re: Barrel tools
A forum member currently manufactures two barrel assembly takedown tools...
A heavy duty set (this is what I typically use)

Re: Barrel tools (ammo)
I ordered my ammo online from Cabelas.com It's on backorder, but at least I will get some (100 rounds). There on-line price is $28.99 per box of 20, which is about the same as local prices. I had bought some from Bass Pro Shop in this area, but I thing they are out now. The ammo is made by Remington. I own two model 8s in .35Remington.
