Anybody own or know anything about this 35 Rem?

If it mikes out as actual 35 REM we could be looking at French or Belgian ammo for the FN 1900.

From the website Municion. General Don Gonzalo had a Remington 8 or 81 and had some ammo whipped up for it back in '45. Made out of 8mm Mauser cartridges.

The first batch manufactured in Spain of this cartridge was in 1945 commissioned by the General D.Gonzalo Queipo. In Spain these cartridges were called "9 mm D. Gonzalo of hunt".

The only Spanish manufacturer having an "S" headstamp shown on the rather extensive IAA headstamp ID list is Pirotecnia Militar de Sevilla, Seville, Spain. It looks like a military headstamp, and the .35 Rem case may well have been formed from another case, such as 7mm, 7.62mm, or 8mm. I can't make out if the date is 1952 or 1957, probably the former. The PM-S plant has been shut down since 1974 and is now he campus of the Law University of Seville.

Entirely possible that these cartridges were not made by PM-S, but possibly by a custom reloader using military brass. Does the box label indicate a maker? Odd that the caliber is printed as "35 mm."

Heck of a round, if it actually was 35mm, that equates to a projectile 1 3/8" inch in diameter, anti-tank round.
