model 81

Post by EBRMOD0 »

FINALLY found this site. I have a 81 that was made in 1947 in 35Rem. Shoots great, I added the correct rear tang and have had this one for a some years now. Finish is not perfect but ok for a field rifle. Yes, I have carried it in the woods, will and hopefully will bag something with it. I have cleaned the internals of the barrel shroud and now that I have watched the video, will tackle the rest soon. I like the site so, there is another gun show this weekend, who knows an 8? I remember seeing my great grandfathers model 8 back in the early sixties when I was a small child. It struck me that I would find one and have one. Well I did. I reload, so finding another one or two wouldn't be an issue if I can get (or make) brass for anything other than the 35Rem. So I'll just have to keep my eyes open for another one. The biggest problem with a SAFE IS YOU SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT A BIGGER ONE, LOL. Thanks for the great site.
