41st year in the field with my grandpa's model 8. Unfortunately, i have not seen a buck to sight it in on through the peep sight. My Dad's model 8 stayed home, since he has not been able to hunt for the past 10 years. Oh, how I miss that distinctive "roar" of his rifle in the woods, I could always recognize its distinctive sound as a buck came within his sight. The tradition continues that begin in the early 40's with my Grandpa and Dad.

Sir,
What a great story. I never got to hunt with my grandfathers, but hunted with my father, even though he didn't like hunting like I did. I was fortunate enuf to inherit my one grandfather's guns though. They'll always be cherished family heirlooms for me and my 3 sons. And now my first grandson. Hang on to those memories and guns tightly.
Happy Thanksgiving to all of you,
Roger
