Does anyone know if the four filled holes on the left side of the receiver are original to that time of manufacture? I don't know enough about these old things yet.

Even for a 25Rem that is a bunch... nice battle scars... not seeing any abuse or extra holes - I'd call it original. And, looks like the price of a full collection of Model 8's just got another shot in the arm!

I think the model 8 has pieces riveted inside the receiver. Just as the 870 ejector is riveted. they can be replaced but it requires a blue job after riveting.
