hello from The Great Adirondacks! fellow model 8 enthusiast here. mine was made in 29 and is a mint beauty! have some questions i hope i can find answers for here.
Welcome. I just joined here myself. You come from model 8 country. I grew up on the northern edge of the Adirondacks, St Lawrence county. Used to see lots of model 8's when I was a kid. My first one, a 25 Remington, just arrived at my favorite gunshop. I'm on the north slope right now for two weeks so it's torture to not be able to check my new rifle.
This is a cool sight with lots of good information. Welcome again.
