Hello from a new member

Hi everyone. Just found this site. I've had my Model 8 in .30 Rem since the late 70's. I had been my grandfathers, and he gave it to me for Christmas when I was probably 14 years old. He always called it the old "barrel in a barrel". I only shoot every year or two nowadays, but it has a lot of memories for me. Nice to see a site where folks are sharing their thoughts and knowledge about these guns. I look forward to visiting regularly.

Welcome. You are fortunate to have a rifle with connection to family. Glad you joined us and would love to see some photos of your 8 when you can post them.

I love hearing family related stories like that tanker, thanks for sharing. You're keeping those memories alive in one of the most enjoyable ways possible...shooting an old "barrel in a barrel"
