hey i just picked up an 81 and it has a peep mounted in the back of the receiver.
my eyes are to old to use this as i will be mounting a scope, if your interested??

SB, I think the Williams scope mount is the most reasonable mount you might get. I personally like the Griffin & Howe mount but they are really expensive in today's market. ($300-900 when you can find one) I recently fired some first rounds from our ladies with a scope and you will be pleasantly surprised. I have experience with a Stith mount too with good results. However, the Stith really has only one solid foundation, the front part is a slip fit. It provides little foundation for scope support. Plus many rear barrel sights can push against the Stith tube if raised very much. You might catch a replacement safety lever on Numrich Arms site if you keep an eye open.
I wish you luck with locating a mount, do try to get one for 1" tube though, better light gathering.
By the way, what caliber is the Lady, we are all interested....

300 savage, I have a 1951 savage 99 in 300 savage also so I already have stuff to reload with.
