Disassembling and cleaning the model 8

I am a new member of the forum (just signed up yesterday). I have my dad's model 8 circa 1934. The gun shoots well - about 1 1/2 inches high at 100 yards (good enough for me to kill a deer if ever I get the opportunity). I'm sure the gun has not been taken apart in over 50 years. I clean the inside of the bore and the outside when I shoot it. After reading some of the post it appears that taking it apart would not be too difficult. However this gun has a lot of family history and it would break my heart if I somehow broke the internal parts of the "little lady" (I picked that term up from reading your posts). Am I just being too timid? Your thoughts.

Thanks for your help

Take a look here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/buster_ch ... il/?page=9

To remove the barrel a proper tool is recommended . If you can`t find one here or fleabay search the old posts here for way to make one yourself. Welcome and Good Luck.
