My project Model 8 is missing the buttplate. The stock measured along the bottom wood is 11 3/4 inches long and the buttplate area is only 4 1/8 inches long ? Has this stock been shortened from original length ? Thanks for the info

The factory stock measures 13 1/2 inches fron the rear of the receiver to toe of buttplate. Your stock has been cut.
