I found no listing for the LVR powder with this weight bullet; it sounds like the load would be prime in a 760 Rem but could be too hot in our Ladies..... I'd need to see some verifiable pressure listings from a reliable independent source.

THANKS FOR THE INPUT. I AM SHOOTING THE 200 GR HORNADY LEVERLUTION 200 GR 2250 FPS NOW.WHAT IS THE MAX PRESSURE FOR THE 81??? I GATHER THAT THE MARLIN 336 LEVER GUN CAN HANDLE MORE PRESSURE. THAT BUFFALO BORE ROUND SOUNDED LIKE IT MIGHT BE TOO HOT FOR THE 81 TO ME,BUT IT WOULD BE BIG MEDICINE ON ELK AND MOOSE. IF BROWNING WERE ALIVE I COULD GET HIM TO MAKE UP SOME "MAGNUM" SPRINGS FOR SUCH A HOT LOAD. THE 81 LOVES THAT HORNADY LOAD,AND I THINK IT IS HOTTER THAN THE REM OR WINCHESTER 200 GR LOADS. THE HORNADY IS AS FAR AS I WILL PUSH IT. ANYONE ELSE SHOOTING THE HORNADY LOAD?

You may find the 8/81s could do better than some would think, Ken Waters Pet Loads suggests a 40000 cup max for the action. As it is closed till the recoil drives back to full stroke there is a large safety margin. Keep in mind the 300 Savage is rated at 45000 cup. If your rifle is in pristine condition (I note an 81) and has no difficulty with Leverevolution rounds. CareFull load testing could get impressive results. I suggest getting a copy of said Pet Loads to gain better understanding of the process. Please be extra careful to not set the 35R shoulders back by resizing too much. Ruined cases, head separations, or worse are not pleasant.
I tend to err on the side of caution, with good performance needed, but accuracy a priority. You can see from other posts I have a fixation on safety.
I am impressed by the potential of newer Hornady projectiles for these cartridges.
