So i just got this Model 8 and on the barrel is says model 8-A. can anyone tell me what the A stands for if they know for certain? I've looked everywhere thinking it was a production version but i can't find anything about it. And also if anyone could give me a link to find the date of the gun with the barrel serial #? It starts with 4 if that helps. I need the link because the pinned link doesn't work for me.

The A refers to the base or standard rifle.
