Last winters project for this fall hunt. Reblued a very rusty and severely pitted early rifle in 35 Rem. The bore had a very bad ring a few inches from the muzzle so it made a great project piece . The new stocks will be complete but not until after the deer hunt (about half done now ). Groups about 3 inches at 75 yards which is better than I thought .

Who did the blue, I'm looking for a reliable source. Just not in Canada

The blue is the only part I can't take credit for. Hours and hours of hand polishing to remove most of the deep pits. Don't know if I would do that part again, but never say never. My smith then gave it his best to make it look presentable.

Hi,
It looks great. Please post some pictures of the replacement stock when you get it installed.

Who did the detachable mag conversion and what's up with the saddle ring?

As a collector of JMBrowning guns, I own many Winchester saddle ring carbines. I find this custom addition quite tasteful.I only wish that Remington had done it themselves originally. I would definitely be interested in knowing how and where you decided to locate it within the receiver.
Thanks for your time
Roger

Everything except the blue was done by myself. I like looks of any SRC,so I added one for the "cool factor". The detachable magazine has a very positive release that is easily used with a gloved hand . No more fumbling when it minus twenty!

Who did the blueing
Just for the record I really appreciate your skill with doing the mag release. I've a 32R with a single mag that releases, I'm also curious about the detail of getting the mags to fit in the conversion. I have 3 candidates for mine. I noted the type of magazines you used in the conversion.
