Greetings, I am replacing a broken butt plate on a first model Model 8. I found a few after market replacements on line and ordered one. It is close to fitting the curvature of the butt though it needs to bend another 3/16 in the center.

I'm ready to either boil or use a heat gun and decided to tap into the knowledge base here first.

Heating of some kind may do the trick. Be REAL careeful with the heat gun if used. A good idea is to eyeball the butt screw holes, the centering of vertical on stock,& L/R on the stock B4 any bend. You can get an unpleasant surprise if you don't check first. Experience is a hard teacher....
