Remington mod 8-D Grade new girl in town

Here is my newest old gun. A model 8-D grade from 1911 or so. It's far from perfect, it has been used and hunted with for sure. Bluing has carry wear and some scratches here and there as does stock !! Checkering isn't as sharp as some but I do believe it to be all original other than a Lyman front sight and a Marbles flip up rear sight that I installed. It came with a later model 81 rear sight. It also has a receiver peep sight that was added.
I love a nice crisp new looking high grade Remington as much as all of you I am sure but I also don't mind a gun that shows honest wear from being used !! Both butt stock and fore end are marked with serial number followed by the # 4 so I really like that !! 
I am very happy with it and hope you enjoy looking at it. I am gonna post a bunch of pictures and they could be out of sequence and the picture quality isn't as good as I hoped but here you go !! First few bunches of pictures are the way it came with 81 rear sight.  Enjoy !    John Taylor

oh man I love all the pictures, thanks for posting them. That rifle is a beauty! She aged, she's been on trails, but still full of beauty.

It's got that "honest" wear look to it. And the wood! :shock: :shock:
