First post here and hoping for some good advice.

I have a Model 8 in 35rem. The serial number is early 4000's. I took it apart to give it a good cleaning. The recoil spring is about two inches too short and mangled. The spring cup had a small chunk fall off. Does anyone know of a reputable company that would have the early parts to match this early Model 8 or am I stuck with later model parts?

You could start by making a post in the 'Wanted' section at the bottom of the Board Index. I've seen and searched for parts on Ebay. Just type in Model 8/81 parts and hit search button. Also Google on your computer something to the effect "Parts for Remington Model 8 and 81. There will be a number of parts sources that you can check their website for availability and I've had good luck calling them also. Numrich Gun Parts may have what you are looking for also. Have used them in the past. Alot of times they are out of stock but ya never know, you might get lucky on what you need.
