Boozhoo, aanii, all that.
I picked up a Remington 81 in .300 sav some months ago and have been lurking here since. Recently picked up some ammo finally (wow was it expensive - and i got it for cheap -) and am very excited to test her out. Anything I should double check before her first run and hunt?

Hello and welcome.
I would be most concerned about the ammo if it is old. If it is new ammo, probably not much to worry about in that regard.
As far as the rifle itself, if it the bolt locks back, the magazine is functioning, and the barrel is freely sliding in the barrel sleeve, go ahead and shoot it.
Hope it shoots lights out.
