Clint Peoples Model 81

Here's a rifle that had spent some years in the hands of a well known Texas Ranger. Clint was born in 1910 and passed in 1992. Hard to fathom the changes and advancements that man had seen in his lifetime!!! I did a cursory search of him, sounds like he had quite the career.

The photograph of him on the horse was something extra to veiw, the rifle in the scabbard isn't an 81.

81POLICE has a post talking about this rifle, over ten years ago. At first glance, I thought the rifle may have been in the white. From the post below there's talk about it being nickel plated.

Good write up and additional info! Love the photo!

I don't recall the location of Model 81 #6165. There are other known "DPS" rifles all early 81's...

I thought it was wonderful photo too, was a different era of Lawmen and way of life!
