The COOLEST Police 81 Story! **

For many years my father owned a "Special Police" 81 formerly with the Nashville, TN Police Dept. This department didn't buy many of these, in fact we only have 3 known in the database. One day I'm contacted by a guy named Jimmy, and he tells me that his uncle served with the MNDP and he actually had photos of officers (including his uncle) holding "Special Police" 81's! Jimmy had many fond memories of his uncle and I could tell his heart burned to own one of these Nashville guns...certainly a connection to his late uncle. My father, who rarely sells guns, heard this story and thought it was too cool to pass on. Fast forward some time...and Jimmy now owns a bonifide Nashville, TN Police 81 that very possibly his uncle personally held & fired 60+ some odd years prior!!!
Some info on Jimmy's uncle and this Special Police 81 are below...
"My Uncle Carl Dixon served in the U.S. Navy as a Gunners Mate 1st Class and was on the battleship
U.S.S. Mississippi at one time. He was a Gold Glove Boxer and a 7th Fleet boxing Champion in his class. He came home after the occupation of Japan and went to work for the City of Nashville, TN Police Department as a Motorcycle Patrol Officer. He was also a member of the Tactical Squad when needed. He was one tough hombre. A nicer guy you’d never meet though"
