I was just given this 1924 model 8 in 35 Remington by a close friend who has just recently passed away, he also gave me a Weaver K3 scope that was originally mounted to the gun by his dad, but he couldn’t find the mounting rail for the rifle with anybody have an idea what type of mount to use to attach the scope to the rifle? appreciate it thanks

Welcome to the forum! I have no doubt that Police81, Roger or one of the other member that are actively on here will be able to give you more information on this. It wonderful that you will be able to be the next caretaker of that cool piece of history. Sorry for your loss.

I appreciate it he was a good man and a dear friend. I also have a 1913 model 8 in 30rem that’s been in my family since new. He was the one who found and reloaded some 30 rem brass for my family gun

Welcome to the forum.

Your Model 8 is drilled for a STITH Scope Mount. Most seen for the Model 8/81 are for 1" tube scopes, be mindful there are some out there that are for 7/8" scopes.

The scope mounts are pretty rare, but they do pop up from time to time.

Here's my 81 with an early Weaver K 2.5 power.

Hibby's on POINT! He is correct, M.L. Stith mount. Keep an eye out on ebay or gunbroker, they do show up occassionally. You could also make a post on the forums to see if any members have one for sale. They are amongst the best scope mount setups for the 8/81 platform IMO

Keep an eye out for Grafs brass, a few years ago I found new brass for the .30 at a local gun shop and bought 200 of them.
Gun Stop here in MN sells that kinda stuff.
